Requirements:

Required qualifications:

  • MSc degree in chemical technology, nanotechnology, chemical engineering, chemistry, materials science, environmental engineering, or related areas. If the MSc degree is not granted by a Polish university, the Candidate should verify whether a recognition of her/his diploma is required. More information can be found on NAWA website (nawa.gov.pl/en/recognition/recognition-for-academic-purposes/applying-for-admission-to-doctoral-studies). The recognition of the diploma, if applicable, must be attached to the application for the PhD student position.
  • laboratory skills for operation of membrane installation and testing membranes;
  • understanding the aspects of photocatalysis and membrane technology;
  • good English knowledge.

 
Additional qualifications:

  • experience in photocatalysis or membrane techniques;
  • experience in analytical techniques related to the project subject.

 
Moreover, the Candidate must meet the National Science Centre (NCN) criteria for PhD position, i.e. the Candidate must successfully complete the recruitment procedure to the Doctoral School and on the envisaged starting date (01.10.2025) must be a PhD student at the Doctoral School.

Job description:

Research will be realized within the framework of NCN OPUS-28 project No. UMO-2024/55/B/ST11/00572 entitled „ Photocatalytic membrane reactors: causes, mechanisms and opportunities to reduce degradation of polymeric photocatalytic membranes”. The key responsibilities include preparation of photocatalysts and membranes; investigations on the influence of various parameters on the performance and stability of photocatalytic membranes and analysis of possibilities to mitigate their degradation; preparation of publications and dissemination of project results.

Employment conditions:

Doctoral scholarship (48 months) – in accordance with NCN rules (www.ncn.gov.pl):

1st year: approx. 3700 PLN, 2nd year: approx. 3700 PLN, 3rd year (after the month of the mid-term evaluation of PhD students): approx.. 4800 PLN, 4th year: approx.. 4800 PLN (net, monthly). Envisaged starting date: 01.10.2025, according to the Doctoral School schedule.
